Featuring Oakland Brand and Identity Designer Mellani DeJesus
Happy October!
I’m excited about today’s Community Series feature because not only is Mellani a good friend and constant cheerleader of Lacson Ravello, but she also happens to be responsible for our amazing new logo and branding.
Meet Mellani DeJesus, graphic designer extraordinaire. Mellani’s focus is on thoughtful brand design for conscious BIPOC female-founded businesses (that’s me!). She’s a Bay Area native, consummate funny gal, and has killer style.
Without further ado……Meet Mellani.

"The Arva is my new favorite sweatshirt. It's super comfy but with thoughtful details that give it an elevated look."
What is your fave piece from the new collection?
The Arva is my new favorite sweatshirt. It’s super comfy but with thoughtful details that give it an elevated look (100% better than the usual shapeless sweats). And you can never go wrong with black and white stripes!
How would you wear it?
For everyday wear, I’d pair it with high-waisted jeans or shorts. If I’m feeling fancy, I’d layer it over an oxford blouse.
Where would you wear it?
I loved having the Arva as part of my wardrobe on my staycation in Carmel By The Sea. The sweatshirt was easy to pack, layer, and went with everything. I threw on a beret and scarf and instantly blended in with the town’s European vibes.
