Fall 2016 Unfolds
The Making of a Line
Fall 1 Collection arrives this week. Here is a peek into our process that started back in January—from concept to samples to photo shoot and everything else in between.
Kicking off Fall 2016 with our concept board (aka our “road map”) with the main inspiration coming from the Bloomsbury Group and their creative influence at the turn of the century.
1910 meets the 1970s.
From The Marais to East Sussex to the Village.
Bohemian ease with urban sophistication.
Warm ochre, copper, and scarlet hues are grounded with cool teals, greys, and indigos.
Carefree and expressive florals contrast with structured and graphic stripes.
Soft and smooth textures in silk, sherpa, and suede are easy and relaxed.
A little off beat and nostalgic reinterpreted modern.
We call it ‘Nouvelle Bohème’.
Fabric sourcing is like a hunting and gathering process for me. This is fabric edit number one of many.
The first cut—concept and ideas becoming reality.
We have samples! They are cut and re-cut as many times as needed until the final look and fit are achieved.
After months of putting together the line, it’s the photo shoot that makes it real. Working on set with with these pros is always a wonderful day, photographer Mark Rutherford and model Jillian Lieber/Stars Management
